I did a video entitled, What Would I Want A Mother of a Typical Needs Child to Know, which can be found here. The response to this video from the community of special needs moms was tremendous. A consistent reaction to the video was that one of the most difficult aspects of having a child with special needs is the lack of understanding from those around you. This lack of understanding can come from family or close friends as well as from neighbors, acquaintances and strangers. We have developed a poem in a simple business card size format that is meant as a “stop and think” piece for those that may be judgmental, critical or simply lacking in understanding. We offer it to you with a small flexible case that can be put into your purse for quick access when needed. We offer it as a small aid in your daily life and hope that it might help educate someone you know about the daily challenges you face
